Sarnia Braves Minor Baseball PBLO Annoucement
The Sarnia Braves Minor Baseball Association would like to announce that they have been awarded a franchise in the Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO) for the 2021 season.

The other seven league members include Tecumseh Thunder, London Badgers, Ontario Yankees, Oakville A’s, Oshawa Legionnaires, Ottawa-Nepean Canadians and the Sudbury Voyageurs.

The Braves plan on entering an 18U and 15U team in the league. Open tryouts will be in September, dates to be announced soon. For interested players check our website and facebook page. The season will begin in May.

President John Vasey states “This says a lot about our organization to be asked to join this elite program. It represents a real step up in the level of baseball for our teams. After the city’s large investment in upgrading Errol Russell Park and the success of the senior team in winning the provincial championship as well as our 12U team winning a provincial championship last year we were really looking forward to this season until COVID-19 hit. We are now reenergized for 2021 and supporters of baseball in Sarnia should have an enjoyable experience, witnessing some top flite games at Errol Russell Park.”

“Not everyone gets this opportunity,” says 18U manager Jim Bigras. “This is what the organization was created for some twenty-five years ago by Stan Slack and Joe Panik. It will also give our younger teams something to look forward to as they develop through the program.”

Our younger teams will still be members of the Western counties association and Baseball Ontario. The two PBLO teams will also be associated with Baseball Ontario.
